Welcome to Copenhagen

Please enjoy our two minute headways

Arriving in a foreign country after long, long flight plus multiple time zone changes is always a bit disorienting. I feel like how easy it is to find your way to the city center via public transportation is a clear indicator of the cities commitment

to supporting non-drive alone modes and tourism. I do enough problem solving in my daily life that I so appreciate when good design and planning solves my problems for me. The CPH airport had my back. I'm also lazy and cheap. You can imagine my relief when I realized someone made it nearly as easy and understandable to take the train into town as it was to hop in a taxi. Actually, taking a taxi sounded more challenging because it meant my jetlagged and sleep deprived self may be forced to make small talk with a driver. So between two minute headways, clear signage, a shockingly simple transit network map, it was the easiest travel transition I could imagine.

darn good signage
2 min headways even on a Sunday and real time information down to the 90 seconds
